Allison Chinchar works as a weather forecaster for CNN as well as HLN. She regularly appears in CNN's "New Day weekend"', and HLN's "Weekend Express', as well being a regular guest on CNN International programming. Before joining CNN in June 2015 she was a meteorologist at locale stations like Atlanta, Nashville, and Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was a meteorologist for hurricanes and blizzards as well as flooding, wildfires, and won an Emmy for the coverage she offered of Dorian, a hurricane that struck the Bahamas. Dorian that struck the Bahamas, in 2019. Her coverage of the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011 when over 350 tornadoes were reported in the Southeastern United States over a duration of 4 days, with 200 of them that occurred on the 27th of April was nominated as well in the Emmy Awards. Her work being an ecoscientist has enabled her to write stories on climate change and natural disasters such as earthquakes, volcanoes, etc. Chinchar graduated with a bachelor's of Science degree in Atmospheric Science from The Ohio State University. Chinchar is also a member of the American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
